InnoBMS: Situationally aware innovative battery management system for next generation vehicles
What is InnoBMS?
InnoBMS is a Horizon Europe project that will develop and demonstrate a future-ready battery management system (BMS) solution that maximizes battery use and performance for the user without negatively affecting battery life. All this while continuously maintaining safety!
InnoBMS Consortium
We are an international consortium consisting of 13 partners representing a unique mix of leading knowledge centres and industrial experts. The complementary skills and knowledge that this consortium brings together will allow us to develop innovations for real-world applications to Technology Readiness Level 6 (TRL).
All partners can be found on the website: Partners - InnoBMS
Project Timeline
InnoBMS started on 1 January 2024 and will run for a period of 42 months.
The kick-off meeting of InnoBMS was hosted by its coordinator, Vrije Universiteit Brussel. All partners met face to face for a two-day meeting, outlining the ambitions and the means to success. The InnoBMS kick-off meeting was a success and provided a solid foundation for a successful journey to push the boundaries of Battery Management Systems!

First Technical results
The InnoBMS kick started its activities in January of this year, and after six months the first results concerning the requirements and interfaces have been finalized and reported in two deliverables. One of these deliverables is V2X capabilities, bidirectional interfaces and related critical load scenarios including cloud connectivity. This report is available, in full, on the InnoBMS website and presents a detailed analysis for testing and evaluating the demonstrator's functionalities in real-world scenarios.
